Meet Our Family

Hi! My name is Chad and I am originally from the “Big City” of Dallas, Texas. I moved to the peace & beauty of Northeast Alabama 10 years ago to lead a simpler life. I am 41 years old & enjoy being a husband & father to my wife & kids.

 

My hobbies include sports, outdoor activities and small scale farming. I haven’t always been interested in farming, but my Great-Grandfather raised cotton in West Texas in the early 1900’s, so I guess its in my genes.

 

The idea for Coldwater Farms was born from a passion about gardening/farming and the need for naturally grown fruits & veggies in our community. My hope is that we can feed our family & the families of our community a fresher, tastier, chemical-free alternative to what we are able to find in our local grocery store.

 

I am Sheila and married to my wonderful husband Chad and a stay at home Mom to Blake, Austin & Emma Claire. I have always enjoyed shopping in general, and I love to buy our foods from local Farmers Markets, Central Market or Whole Foods. Being a stay at home Mom, I feel like it is part of my job to help save our money while feeding my family the best foods that I can. Growing our own garden and raising our own chickens has allowed us to know what we are feeding our family while saving money on the grocery bill.

 

My true passion has always been photography. I love taking photos of flowers & family! The majority of the photography on our site has been taken by me. I hope you enjoy each photo as much as I enjoyed taking them!

Hi, my name is Blake and I am 13 years old. I love to be outdoors and that is where I spend most of my summer days. I like the feeling of moist dirt beneath my bare feet and the smell of fresh air.

 

Farming is one of my favorite things. I like farming because I like to grow and pick things. Not only do I like fresh foods but I love healthy foods.

Hi, my name is Austin. I am 8 years old. I would like to be a farmer when I grow up. Farming is fun because...it is fun! It is fun to watch the plants grow. It is fun because I like to pick the plants. I like to pick out the seeds. But one good reason is that is you can get dirty and I’m a boy so I like to get dirty. I like to be outside a lot even when it is raining. I like to stay inside too and play video games. So anyway, I like doing stuff around the house like playing with my sister. I like watching a movie with my brother. I really like my Step-Mom because she is a good cook. My Dad is cool because he has a painting business and his number is: 256-452-9797 that is his “sell fone” number so call him if you want a paint job on your house. Well that’s me and Bye Bye.

Hi! I am Emma Claire, but my brothers call me Sissy. I love to be outside, even if it is just Mommy rolling down the windows in the car—I squeal with delight! When I get to go out to the garden it makes me so happy because I can dig in the dirt and nobody cares how dirty I get.

 

I love all kinds of fruits & veggies. I go crazy for strawberries & love pears too. I eat tomatoes like apples and the juice runs down my tummy.
